ECR Career Development Fund
We are excited to launch our new round of Seedcorn Funding which seeks to support early-stage researchers in the energy networks field.
Researchers are invited to submit applications for funding to support one of the following options:
Option 1: Research Project – a research project which clearly defines how the research activity will help you to develop one or more future research proposals within energy networks.
Option 2: Secondment (Academic or Industry) – to support a short-term placement that will strengthen collaborations and understanding between you and your selected partner organisation.
Option 3: Training and Development – to support relevant career training, this may be training which is not essential to your current role but important for your future development.
Call Overview:
- A total fund of £20k is available. Maximum award for any individual project = £10k
- Applicants must be Early Career Researchers* based at a UK Higher Education Institute
- Proposals to support early-stage activity in the energy networks field
- 6 Month project duration (Jan 2027 – July 2027)
- 80% of the full economic cost (FEC) is available
- Outputs will include a final report and presentation at a Supergen Energy Networks Event
*For the purposes of this call, an ECR refers to a researcher who has not held a grant as a Principle Investigator, over £100k (excluding fellowships) or is within 5 years of completing a PhD
