Professor Jianzhong Wu announced as Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research), University of Bath

We are delighted to share that Professor Jianzhong Wu, a Co-Investigator for the Supergen Energy Networks Hub, will become the University of Bath’s new Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research) from 14 September 2026.
Professor Wu joins the University at an exciting time, with the forthcoming launch of the University Strategy 2036. Achieving global excellence with impact through high-quality, focused research is central to the University’s ambitions, and Professor Wu will play a key role in delivering this vision as a member of the University’s Executive Board.
In his new role, he will be responsible for developing and implementing the University’s Strategic Plan for Research, working closely with colleagues across the Faculties, School, Institutes, professional services teams and the wider research community to strengthen Bath’s research excellence and impact.
